THQ Nordic and Gunfire Games have released a teaser trailer for Chronos: Before the Ashes for numerous platforms. The original Chronos is a VR title on Oculus Rift that is also a prequel to Gunfire’s Remnant: From the Ashes.
Chronos follows the story of a young man who must defeat a great evil and save his homeland. An ancient labyrinth contains secrets that will aid him, but he has to pass its tests in order to bring peace back home. The labyrinth opens only once a year, and if the hero fails its tests, he must wait an entire year before he can try again.
The new teaser trailer hints that Chronos: Before the Ashes is a non-VR version of Chronos, given that the end of the trailer lists that it is coming to every current-generation platform. However, whether it is purely a port or also some kind of sequel to the original Chronos has yet to be confirmed.
Chronos was originally released in 2016 and Remnant: From the Ashes in August 2019. Chronos: Before the Ashes is set to release on Dec. 1 on PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Google Stadia. Gunfire Games has announced no plans for next-generation versions of the game at this time.
