Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time has been rated by the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee ahead of an official announcement from Activision.
The committee (first spotted by Gematsu) has listed versions of the title for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, the latter of which will also be playable on the upcoming Xbox Series X, according to box art. Heading up development on this new effort is Toys For Bob, which was previously responsible for 2017’s Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, as well as most of the Skylanders series and the Spyro Reignited Trilogy, ensuring they have plenty of experience with both the Crash Bandicoot series and platformers more generally.
The listing also includes a brief synopsis of the game, which hints at a time-jumping story – possibly similar to 2013’s fellow reboot/sequel Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time:
Crash is relaxing and exploring his island in his time, 1998, when he finds a mysterious mask hidden away in a cave, Lani-Loli. The mask is one of the Quantum Masks and apparently knows Aku-Aku, Crash’s mask friend! With the Quantum Masks returning and a Quantum Rift appearing near our heroes, they decide to bravely head through to different times and dimensions to stop whoever is responsible.
The listing spoils Activision’s upcoming announcement, which may have been teased via a puzzle being sent to some journalists just yesterday.
No release date has yet been revealed.
