A teaser trailer for Crysis 2 has hit the internet, giving us a brief look at the new, must-have nanosuit.
When you’re teasing a first-person shooter, showing us what the lead character – who we are unlikely to see very often – will look like seems an odd move, especially when he’ll look pretty much the same as he did in the last game only with weirder proportions.
That’s not all there is to it though, because as well as the video above, there is also a brochure that you can download from the fictional creators of the new nanosuit, which – if you can read between the lines – gives hints as to the game’s plot.
Oh, and by hints I mean, ‘pretty much gives the plot away’. I’d stop reading now if you want it to be a surprise.
The main improvement in the new suit is the addition of ‘SECOND’, an on-board AI that can feed information directly into a soldier’s brain as well as mess around with their brain chemistry, ostensibly to improve combat performance. If that doesn’t scream ‘super-soldiers controlled by a shadowy organisation’, then I don’t know what does.
Of course, this is all conjecture, and it could be completely wrong, but I’m willing to put ten bucks on me being right. Anyone want to bet against me?
