During today’s Night City Wire Episode 3, CD Projekt Red gave more details about the different gang factions in Cyberpunk 2077, plus PC requirements.
The first gang detailed is Maelstrom, which looks to be a rather ruthless group of people, as the narrator says he saw them kill a child in front of him once. Their most noticeable feature is that they have some sort of eye covering with red lights and have heavily augmented their bodies with machinery, blurring the line between human and machine.
Meanwhile, the Animals definitely look to be the most physically capable of all the gangs in Night City. The members have incredible muscle mass. As the narrator states, they’re not employees, just hired muscle. Next, Moxes are a female-led gang and consist of outcasts and freakshows. They place a great emphasis on community and solidarity, just like the Nomads. The Voodoo Boys then are focused on hacking and are presented as the most tech-savvy of the gangs.
The next few Cyberpunk 2077 gangs revealed got into more stereotypical territory, starting with 6th Street, who is an incredibly patriotic bunch of people. They love the second amendment and are based on stereotypical Americans. The Valentinos are a largely Latino gang and switch between speaking Spanish and English in the same sentence. 6th Street and Valentinos seem to also have some sort of rivalry.
Tyger Claws is an Asian gang complete with members who wield swords, in addition to guns. According to Moxes, one of their members was killed by Tyger Claws, and that fueled the growth of the Moxes gang even further.
Cyberpunk 2077 releases on Nov. 19 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions are also currently in development. The game will take advantage of Microsoft’s Smart Delivery system. If you intend to play on PC, have a look at the minimum and recommended PC requirements below.
