Dead by Daylight players will be able to return to Raccoon City once more when the game’s Resident Evil Chapter arrives next month. The content pack received a proper trailer today, revealing two new Survivors – Leon S. Kennedy and Jill Valentine – along with Resident Evil 3’s hulking S.T.A.R.S. hunter, Nemesis, as a playable Killer. The Dead by Daylight Resident Evil Chapter also adds the iconic Raccoon City Police Station, which has been recreated just as it was in Capcom’s Resident Evil 2 remake, as a new map. The content’s full release is currently scheduled for June 15, but you can access it via Steam’s Player Test build now. See the trailer below.
Dead by Daylight developer Behaviour Interactive shared gameplay footage and more details about its Resident Evil Chapter during a livestream event today. Creative Director Dave Richard says that Jill Valentine’s unique Perks, for example, will “highlight her intensive training and her high adaptability in impossible situations.” Leon S. Kennedy will be able to use a perk that gives access to a flashbang during a match. Meanwhile, Nemesis can infect survivors with his T-Virus power and tentacle attack, keeping players panicked even if they manage to get away from the Killer.
Another special addition coming with the Resident Evil Chapter will see AI-controlled zombies populating the Raccoon Police Department when Nemesis is in play. The footage, which you can watch below at 51:25, also gives us a look at how the Raccoon Police Department’s ravaged halls hold up in Dead by Daylight.
In other Resident Evil news, Capcom just launched the series’s eighth mainline installment, Resident Evil Village, earlier this month. There’s also a live-action movie set to arrive later this year, and a VR version of Resident Evil 4 was officially revealed just last month.
Dead by Daylight’s Resident Evil Chapter launches next month as the 4v1 horror game’s newest collaboration project. Last year saw Behaviour Interactive dipping into the Silent Hill series with playable characters in the form of Pyramid Head and Cheryl Mason, but other properties, such as Stranger Things and Left 4 Dead, have joined in the past as well.
