Bungie announced that the next-generation optimization upgrades for Destiny 2: Beyond Light will arrive on Dec. 8. Bungie also provided some more details about what the upgrades consist of between platforms.
Destiny 2: Beyond Light on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S will support 60 FPS. Both consoles will also have a field of view slider, faster load times, and cross-generation play. This means that PlayStation 4 players can play with PlayStation 5 players, and Xbox One players can play with Xbox Series X | S players.
This is the first time that field of view customization is being offered on consoles, with the PC version already having this enhancement. Bungie is continuing to test the settings across each platform and will have more details as the launch date gets closer.
The stars have aligned as Beyond Light launches alongside the next generation of consoles on Nov 10.

Faster loading times will affect booting up the game, as well as inspecting your character’s inventory. However, there are still some load times that are dependent on networking and matchmaking speeds.
Additionally, both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will support 4K resolution, but Series S will only support 1080p. Players who have the current-generation version of Destiny 2 are eligible for the next-generation upgrade at no extra cost.
Destiny 2: Beyond Light was originally set to release on Sept. 22 but was delayed because of development difficulties due to COVID-19. It will now release on Nov. 10 for Xbox One, PS4, PC, and Google Stadia.
