The Necromancer is now live in Diablo 3. Check out all the changes the patch brings alongside the new class here.
Blizzard has rolled out the Rise of the Necromancer DLC for Diablo 3, and it’s just when they promised it would be. The new DLC is going live alongside patch 2.6.0, which adds a number of new features to the game.
New additions include Challenge Rifts, which are weekly static dungeons that you’ll have to tackle with a character the game provides. There are also two new zones, The Moors and The Temple of the Firstborn. You can find them in Act 2 in Adventure mode. There are also a number of new Realms of Fate bounties that will appear as waypoints on your map.
In addition to this new content, the patch also includes a number of changes. Some are simple, like item adjustments and changes to set bonuses. Others include what Blizzard would typically call “quality of life” changes, such as the change to allow instant respawns in Greater Rifts, although the remaining time on the death timer is still subtracted from your remaining time.
You can find a list of all the patch notes over on the official Diablo 3 website. The Rise of the Necromancer DLC will cost you $15. If you’re playing on console and don’t already own the game, your best bet is the digital-only Diablo 3: Eternal Collection that packs in the base game and all the DLC, including the new one. Although this version is normally $60, it is currently marked down to $40 for a limited time.
