Dirt 5 delay Dirt 5 Playgrounds preview Codemasters user-created levels sandbox creation

Codemasters has announced that it has delayed the release date of Dirt 5 by a few weeks, from Oct. 16 to Nov. 6. The studio didn’t specify the exact reason for the delay, however. Those who purchase the “Amplified Edition” of Dirt 5 will be able to play the game early on Nov. 3 through its early access perk.

Dirt 5 is releasing on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on that November release date. The Google Stadia version is slated to release in early 2021. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions of the game are still on track for a 2020 release later.

Furthermore, players who purchase either the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One versions will receive the corresponding next-generation upgrade for free. According to Codemasters developer Rob Karp, PlayStation 5 has the option of running Dirt 5 at 120 FPS. The game features a campaign, as well as split-screen and online multiplayer.

Codemasters states that more news and gameplay footage will follow up until its November release. These details will include new cars and locations, additional next-gen features and multiplayer functions, and the final list of cars.
