The first Dune trailer in nearly a year is here to excite before the film hits theaters and HBO Max this October. The trailer gives a better view of director Denis Villeneuve’s vision for the sci-fi film’s characters, creatures, and world. Large-scale battles and epic action set pieces aside, the footage gives us more from Timothée Chalamet’s Paul Atreides as his dreams of a mysterious girl — played by Zendaya — leave him with questions. See how Paul Atreides’ destiny will unfold in the new Dune trailer below.
Dune will finally make its way to audiences later this year after a much longer wait than Warner Bros. had initially expected. The film’s first trailer from last September promised a big-budget, star-studded epic that would arrive that December. However, the movie saw a serious delay to this year after the movie industry struggled to adapt to the changes presented by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
A decision to bring the movie to HBO Max and theaters simultaneously arrived when Warner Bros. struck a deal with the streaming platform. While all Warner Bros. movies will stick to this method of delivery throughout 2021, the company has revealed that in 2022 Regal Theaters will show its movies 45 days before they come to HBO Max.
Dune premieres October 22, 2021 and will be available to watch in theaters or for a month on HBO Max.
