Techland has given us an update on Dying Light 2 after the studio had teased last week that more information about the game would be arriving. In actuality, the video that Techland released really didn’t provide anything substantial or particularly noteworthy aside from reiterating a 2021 release window.
To start off, the developers at Techland recorded themselves reading mean-spirited tweets from gamers around the internet. The team then states that the game still needs additional development time. There was some new gameplay footage shown, particularly of the first-person parkour element as well as some of the enemies, but it only comprised about 15 seconds of the nearly 3-minute video.
Near the end of the video, Dying Light 2 still claims to be arriving in 2021. It was reported that the game was in its final stretches of development back in May of last year, so let’s hope that it eventually does release sometime this year.
ThisĀ Dying Light 2 update comes after upper management at Techland reportedly mistreated employees, with claims that the game’s story was allegedly rewritten multiple times due to a messy development cycle.
Dying Light 2 will launch on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Techland has also stated that it will be a cross-generational release, so it will release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S too.
