Enslaved looks like it might get some help dominating Europe thanks to its recently-announced Collector’s Edition.
Enslaved: Odyssey of the West seemed to come out of nowhere this summer and sufficiently impressed Greg when he spent some time with it at E3. The upcoming action-adventure from Ninja Theory sounds pretty fun and creative, and Namco Bandai is sweetening the deal for European gamers with its recently-announced Collector’s Edition.
The Enslaved: Collector’s Edition includes a special case, a book full of concept art, and a copy of the game’s soundtrack (composed by pop musician Nitin Sawhney). For the moment, this is exclusive to Europe and no price tag has been announced.
If you’re unfamiliar with Enslaved, the game is an action-adventure set in a lush post-apocalyptic world where humanity is nearly extinct and dangerous wild robots roam the lands. Its story is loosely based on Journey to the West, starring a warrior named Monkey who is temporarily enslaved by a young woman named Trip in order to help her survive the wastelands until she returns home.
I’m a sucker for art books, mainly because I’m always on the lookout for new ideas when it comes to my own illustration work, so I would definitely pick this package up if it becomes available on my side of The Pond before its October release. At the moment, Namco Bandai hasn’t hinted at a Collector’s Edition for North America, but if you pre-order the game through Amazon you’ll get access to the game’s soundtrack.
