Yuke’s Confirms It’s Working on an AEW Game
Following the departure of Yuke’s from the WWE 2K series, many had been wondering what the studio would be working on next. We now know the company is developing an All Elite Wrestling (AEW) game to compete with the popular WWE series it became famous for. Additionally, it will be directed by Hideyuki Iwashita, the director of Nintendo 64 masterpiece WWF No Mercy. This news comes by way of an AEW livestream hosted largely by Kenny Omega, which you can check out below. It’s unclear when it will launch or if it will continue as an annualized franchise, but it will likely be in good hands, given the developer’s pedigree.
The Pathless Receives a Launch Trailer
The Pathless is the next game from Giant Squid, the team that brought us Abzû, and it will be a PlayStation 5 launch game — coming out alongside the system tomorrow. In it, you play as a hunter with the ability to use archery to take out your foes. It’s an action-adventure game with an open world, played from a third-person perspective. Today, the game’s publisher released its launch trailer, showing off some of its gorgeous visuals ahead of release. Check it out below! Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered Still Has an Avengers Reference
In 2018’s Marvel’s Spider-Man, Peter Parker makes a reference to the Avengers being located on the west coast — a nod to the Square Enix-published Marvel’s Avengers game that came out this year. Some who received early copies of Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered for PlayStation 5 claimed that the reference seemed to have been removed, but it turns out that it is still there. As shown in the tweet below, the reference is still present — it is speculated it did not appear before due potentially to other game audio interrupting it.
