Aside from that, there are some interesting video game news stories to jump into. Speaking of Cyberpunk 2077, it has already begun smashing records, Spider-Man: Miles Morales was the most downloaded PlayStation 5 game last month, and more. Spider-Man: Miles Morales Was the Most Downloaded PS5 Game in November

Recently, Sony revealed the list of November’s most-downloaded PlayStation 5 games, and at the top of the charts was Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales in North America. Considering the superhero’s massive appeal and the fact that it was a less expensive game, this isn’t surprising, but it is nice to see it performing so well. Other notable titles are Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Demon’s Souls taking the second and third spots, respectively.

Pokémon GO Developer Niantic Donated $7 Million to Black Lives Matter Charities This Year

Today, Pokémon GO developer Niantic announced (as relayed by GamesIndustry.biz) that, over the course of 2020, it has donated $7 million to Black Lives Matter charities. In total, the company donated to 28 different BLM charities this year and even gave an additional $170,000 to pandemic relief organizations. 2020 was Pokémon GO‘s best year, generating over $1 billion in revenue for Niantic.

Telltales Games Moves Away from Episodic Model and Confirms The Wolf Among Us 2 Won’t Be at TGAs 2020

Ahead of The Game Awards 2020, fans suspected we’d get a closer look at the upcoming The Wolf Among Us 2 during the ceremony, but unfortunately, developer Telltale Games has squashed those expectations. The developer announced in a tweet that its upcoming game would drift away from the episodic model, as the entire season is being developed at once. Telltale said it would share more “when the time is right” and that we won’t get a look at it during The Game Awards 2020.

Remedy’s Control Has Sold Over 2 Million Copies to Date

Recently, Remedy Entertainment’s communications director, Thomas Puha, revealed that Control has sold over 2 million copies to date. November was the game’s bestselling month, though it’s unclear how many copies sold during that time. The game will likely continue to succeed, as a next-generation version is still underway — expected to launch some time next year.

Cyberpunk 2077 Has Smashed Records on PC and Twitch

As expected, Cyberpunk 2077 is already off to a great start, and we already have a pretty good idea of its performance on launch day. Today, CD Projekt Red announced that its new game was preordered 8 million times, not including additional sales made today. In addition, Cyberpunk 2077 has reached over a million active players on Steam and reached 1.1 million viewers on Twitch earlier today. Suffice to say, this game is going to be massive — possibly more than we could have imagined.
