Ghost Recon Breakpoint Is Free on All Platforms This Weekend
Starting today and running until July 20, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint will be free across PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC through Uplay and Epic Game Store. Players who try the free version will be able to carry over progress to the full version, which is on sale right now for $14.99 on PS4 and Xbox One.
Breakpoint released in October 2019 to lukewarm reception and was criticized for feeling samey when compared to other live-service games, though it has since received various updates. You can decide for yourself at no cost this weekend.

The Game Awards’ Geoff Keighley Will Tell Us About the PS5’s DualSense Controller Tomorrow
Creator and host of the annual Game Awards ceremony Geoff Keighley has gone hands-on with the PS5’s DualSense controller and will be sharing his thoughts with us tomorrow. Keighley confirmed this via Twitter today, accompanied by a short video of him holding the controller.
You can expect his reaction to the controller tomorrow, at noon ET via summergamefest.com. The DualSense is a departure for Sony, as the company has dropped the DualShock branding introduced with the PS1 over 20 years ago. Perhaps we’ll get new information about the DualSense during Keighley’s showing tomorrow.

No Man’s Sky Desolation Update Is Here, Introducing Horror Elements
Is there a video game redemption story better than No Man’s Sky? The game’s latest update sends players on a scary adventure to procedurally generated freighters featuring dark, spooky areas to explore. The update, titled Desolation, turns No Man’s Sky into a horror game that resembles Dead Space or the Alien films. The best part is that Desolation is free and available to download now.
In addition to the horror elements, Desolation also comes with a slew of quality-of-life improvements. Check out the creepy launch trailer below:
Streamer Dr DisRespect Will Not Return to Twitch Following Recent Ban
A few weeks ago, one of the world’s biggest streamers, Herschel “Guy” Beahm IV, otherwise known as Dr DisRespect, was banned from Twitch with no explanation as to why. Recently, as part of an interview with PC Gamer, the streamer answered some questions about his side of the story and what the future holds for him.
It’s a lengthy interview with lots to unpack yet still lacking in the concrete answers people are looking for, including why the streamer was banned. What is known is that he will not be returning to Twitch, though the streamer’s plans for the future are still not public. He did note he’s considering taking legal action against Twitch for how the company handled his ban.

Call of Duty 2020’s Supposed Alpha Makes an Appearance on Microsoft Store
It’s July and Activision has still yet to officially announce this year’s Call of Duty game. But a listing for its supposed alpha, titled The Red Door, has leaked onto the Microsoft Store. The game’s description is cryptic but is nonetheless listed as a shooter by Activision.
Modern Warzone, a Call of Duty news account on Twitter, apparently received a “pretty threatening email” from Activision due to using the “red door” image on its site, leading many to believe this leak is credible. It’s unusual for this year’s Call of Duty to still be unannounced, as it’s typically revealed in May. We’ll see if “Red Door” makes its way into this year’s entry soon enough.
