Today was filled with many bite-sized nuggets of video game news, from the Nacon Connect showcase that debuted a new Test Drive Unlimited game and Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong, to the reveal of July’s PlayStation Now games, and much more. Get ready for some game announcements, folks. Here’s the video game news you might’ve missed on July 7, 2020.
July’s PlayStation Now Games Include Watch Dogs 2 and Street Fighter V
PS Now’s July 2020 lineup has been revealed, and it includes the following games:
- Watch Dogs 2
- Street Fighter V
- Hello Neighbor
Street Fighter V and Hello Neighbor will remain on the platform for the foreseeable future, but Watch Dogs 2 will only be available until Oct. 5. PS Now has had a slow start, but the service is here to stay, giving its users monthly updates to keep them coming back. The service allows for users to download and stream PlayStation games for a monthly fee, similar to with Netflix.

Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown Announced
As was teased last week, a new Test Drive Unlimited game is, in fact, coming. Titled Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown, this game was officially announced during today’s Nacon Connect event. A 25-second trailer gives us a look at the game’s overall tone, but it did not include gameplay, sadly. The reveal trailer did not include a release date either, so it’s unclear how far along in development it is or when we’ll get to play.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong Comes to Current and Next-Gen Consoles in 2021
Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong was officially announced in 2019, and today as part of Nacon Connect, we finally have a better idea of when we’ll get to play it. Planned for release on Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch in 2021, players will take on the roles of three different vampires whose stories all interconnect with one another’s. In it, you’ll need to “make choices that will define the future of the city of Boston.”

Ys Origin Finally Headed to Nintendo Switch
Nintendo Switch players won’t have to wait much longer for Ys Origin, as it’s headed to the handheld hybrid later this year. It originally released in 2006 for PC in Japan and came west in 2012, then later came to PS4, PS Vita, and Xbox One. Players will also be able to get their hands on the Switch version physically, courtesy of Limited Run Games. A special collector’s edition will be available and will come packed with a physical copy of the game, CD soundtrack, SteelBook case, art book, and a poster. Limited Run is also selling a standard physical edition. Both will be available for preorder tomorrow.

Mafia: Definitive Edition Pushed to September
Originally scheduled to release in August, Mafia: Definitive Edition has been pushed back to Sept. 25. This delay, as 2K Games explains, is due to challenges of “the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic.” The additional time will allow its developer to ensure the product we eventually get is of high quality. Despite the sad news, we did get word that a new gameplay reveal will be shown on July 22, 2020 — just a couple weeks from now.
Mafia: Definitive Edition is a remake of 2002’s Mafia, which originally came to PC, PlayStation 2, and Xbox. Definitive Edition is being rebuilt from the ground up, keeping the story of the original, but with modern assets for current consoles.
