Ys IX: Monstrum Nox Is Launching on PlayStation 4 in February
As announced via the NIS America Twitter account today, Ys IX: Monstrum Nox has gotten its Western release date, and it’s not far off. It will launch for PlayStation 4 on Feb. 2, 2021 and will also release for PC and Switch later in the summer of 2021. It’s been out in Japan since 2019, but as with many Japanese-developed games, it usually takes a while for them to receive full, quality localizations. Square Enix Spills the Beans on Marvel’s Avengers’ Gear and Cosmetics System
The lead-up to Marvel’s Avengers has been full of surprises — some good and some bad (looking at you, Spider-Man exclusivity on PlayStation). Square Enix finally gave us the information we’d been hoping for when it comes to the game’s cosmetics and gear system. In a blog post from the company, we learned that there will be four different varieties with its cosmetics: Outfits, Emotes, Takedowns, and Nameplates.
We also learned more about its vendors and the resources they’ll sell, how Hero Challenge Cards will work, and a lot more. Chiefly, Hero Challenge Cards — akin to a battle pass for an individual character — will cost 1,000 credits, which apparently equates to $10. These cards will come unlocked by default for the base game’s first six heroes, but after that, you will be paying extra money if you want new characters’ cosmetics. However, fully completing a Hero Challenge Card will give you your 1,000 credits back, so if you’re an especially hardcore player, you’ll theoretically only pay $10 once.
Marvel’s Avengers will launch for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on Sept. 4.
