Aside from Microsoft dropping an absolute atomic bomb with the announcement that it is acquiring Bethesda and all of its IP today, other important news stories have made the rounds, too. We received word that the PlayStation 5 version of Marvel’s Spider-Man will be digital only, the new Xbox Series X and S controllers have an official price, and more. Here’s the video game news you might’ve missed on Sept. 21, 2020.
Xbox Series X and S Controllers Will Be $59.99
After learning that PlayStation 5 controllers will cost $69.99, many have wondered about the price of controllers for its competitor, the Xbox Series X and S. Today, Microsoft revealed that its controllers for the next generation will stay at $59.99. It also announced that extra controllers will be available on launch day, Nov. 10, and that there will be three variants to choose from: Black, White, or Shock Blue. Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time Gets a Launch Trailer
The launch trailer for Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time has been released, showing off the game in action. The trailer depicts Crash and company using the game’s new weapons and abilities, as well as some of the levels and environments. We also got a look at some the wild filters, as part of the game’s Inverted Mode. Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on Oct. 2. Those who preorder the game get access to a demo, which we have previewed. Check out the trailer below.
Following Microsoft’s Acquisition of Bethesda, Fans Want PlayStation to Purchase Konami
Konami is trending on Twitter right now, but maybe not for the reasons you might expect. After the news that Microsoft is acquiring Bethesda, many PlayStation fans are begging Sony to make a purchase of its own: Konami. Sony and Konami have gone way back over the decades, with the likes of Metal Gear Solid, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, and Silent Hill all making an appearance on the original PlayStation. There’s no reason to believe Sony is even thinking about buying Konami though, so at this point, it’s merely a lighthearted wish.

More Elden Ring News Is Coming “Soon”
At E3 2019, Dark Souls developer FromSoftware announced Elden Ring, its latest action RPG in collaboration with Game of Thrones‘ George R.R. Martin. Since then, the company has been radio silent about the game, but we have finally gotten the slightest update from its publisher, Bandai Namco. The publisher’s European Instagram account features a series of images with the text “Elden Ring News Soon,” reminding us all that it’s still in the works. It’s unknown when we’ll get a more concrete update, but it’s nice to know we’ll learn more “soon.” Whatever that means.

Marvel’s Spider-Man on PS5 Is Digital Only, Won’t Allow Save Transfers from PS4
We know Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered will be available for PlayStation 5, but today, we found out about a couple caveats from developer Insomniac Games. For one, the game will only be available on PlayStation 5 digitally. The Ultimate Launch Edition of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales will include the new game and a remastered digital copy of the original Marvel’s Spider-Man for PS5. Insomniac also explained that saves will not be transferable from the PS4 version to the PS5 version, meaning you’ll have to start over again when you get the new system. Miles Morales and Marvel’s Spider-Man will be available for PS5 on launch day, Nov. 12.
