Let’s round out this otherwise busy week with some more video game news, starting with some new The Last of Us announcements, including new merch and a board game. Naughty Dog Announces New Board Game and Collectibles for The Last of Us Day 2020
Although The Last of Us Day 2020 is officially tomorrow, Naughty Dog decided to lift the curtain a little early, giving us exciting new announcements for what’s to come. Most notably, the company revealed a new The Last of Us board game, stating that development on it is underway courtesy of CMON, known for making the Bloodborne board game and the God of War card game. There will also be new merch to look forward to like a The Last of Us Part II soundtrack, statues, and discounts across various games on the PS Store. Plus, there’s more to look forward to tomorrow when The Last of Us Day 2020 officially kicks off.

TGS Monster Hunter Rise Trailer Shows More of the Game in Action
This week during Tokyo Game Show 2020 Online, we got a slightly deeper look at the new Monster Hunter Rise game, coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch next year. The trailer shows mostly what we’ve already seen previously, but we got to see at least a few seconds of new gameplay — including footage of monsters, weapons, and a quick look at some of the environments. Rise will feature an emphasis on verticality and will be compatible in some way with Capcom’s other upcoming game in the series on Nintendo Switch, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin. Animal Crossing: New Horizons Fall Update Arrives Sept. 30
Nintendo has finally revealed when Animal Crossing players can get their hands on the New Horizons Fall Update, and you won’t have to wait long. The free update will go live on Sept. 30, introducing scary costumes, a trick-or-treat event, pumpkin patches, and all the spookies you could hope for. We also learned that New Horizons will be getting another update in November regarding Thanksgiving and Christmas — so we’ve got that to look forward to as well. Here’s the fall update’s trailer.

Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory Will Get a Demo In October
Upcoming rhythm game Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory from Square Enix will be getting a free demo in “mid-October,” according to the official Kingdom Hearts Twitter account. It’s unclear when the demo will go live exactly, but we do know it will be available on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One next month. The game will launch in full on Nov. 13 across the aforementioned platforms and will retell the events of the entire story thus far, while involving new events with Kairi.

Blade Is Available in Fortnite Right Now
In continuing with this season’s Marvel theme, Fortnite has added yet another beloved character from the universe — this time introducing Blade for everyone to enjoy now. To get your hands on the vampire hunter’s outfit, there are a couple bundles you can purchase, including one for 2,000 V-Bucks that features the skin and pickaxe and another for 2,300 V-Bucks that includes the skin, pickaxe, glider, and other cosmetics.
