The March Nintendo Indie World showcase may not have been the publisher’s most eventful presentation, but there was still a healthy amount of announcements. The biggest reveal of the show was that Exit the Gungeon, a follow-up to top-down hit Enter the Gungeon from Dodge Roll and Singlecore Games, has come to Switch today as a timed console exclusive. The game first released as an Apple Arcade exclusive last year.
No Man’s Sky developer Hello Games took the time to show off more footage for its intimate adventure game, The Last Campfire, showcasing a large step back in scale from its previous title and a release window of summer for Switch.
Cyanide & Happiness – Freakpocalypse: Part 1 is coming from the original comic’s creator at Explosm Games and promises a comedic post-apocalyptic “world full of weirdness.” PixelJunk Eden 2 was also revealed to come to Switch in the summer but is not being referred to as a timed exclusive, so expect to see it launch on other platforms around that time frame as well.
Nintendo’s Indie World showcase also brought on White Owls Inc., which is led in part by Hidetaka “Swery” Suehiro. They revealed that The Good Life, their mystery game that has players transforming and roaming around as cats and dogs, later in 2020.
Hohokum and Wilmot’s Warehouse creator Hollow Ponds will release its investigative afterlife game, I Am Dead, as a timed console exclusive for Switch this summer. Meanwhile, pixelated boss rush title Eldest Souls, a stylistic platforming game called Blue Fire, and action-adventure RPG Baldo are all slated as timed console exclusives coming in the summer.
B.ARK sees players taking control of pugs, cats, bears, and bunnies in “powerful yet adorable ships” in order to save the universe and was announced to come to Switch as a timed console exclusive in late 2020. Another late 2020 game coming to Switch is Quantum League, a multiplayer time-paradox-based shooter from Nimble Giant Entertainment.
A few spring games were also revealed during the Indie World presentation, with Summer in Mara set as a timed console exclusive and Faeria also said to be coming to Switch in spring. Additionally, SMG Studio and Devm Games’ frantic party game, Moving Out, was given a firm release date of April 28, 2020, with a demo available to go try out now.
Exit the Gungeon wasn’t the only game to receive surprise Switch release today, as Double Dash Studio’s shoot-‘em-up, Sky Racket, has released for Nintendo Switch today too.
A sizzle reel helped tie everything together, revealing that Blair Witch, Bounty Battle, Dicey Dungeons, Ghost of a Tale, thatgamecompany’s Sky: Children of the Light, Superliminal, and Wingspan are all coming to Switch this year.
