F9 Features Flipping Cars, Flying Cars, Rocket Cars, Exploding Cars, and Swinging Cars

F9 trailer fast and furious 9 vin diesel justin lin

If there was some doubt in your mind that the return of Justin Lin to the Fast and Furious franchise was somehow not going to result in the most insane movie in the series yet, the first trailer for the film that just dropped should put your mind at ease. Fast & Furious 9 — called F9 — not only features what looks to be some of the most ridiculous action sequences we’ve seen, but also Dom (Vin Diesel) driving his car off a cliff only to attach it to a rope and swing it to safety.

F9 finds the crew split up as Dom and Letty have turned to family life, but when Dom’s brother (John Cena) teams up with old nemesis Cipher (Charlize Theron), the whole gang gets back together and starts fighting on top of moving vehicles yet again. The trailer is basically a bunch of shots that are either about #Family or car chasing, and that’s pretty much all you want out of a Fast and Furious film really.

The last few F&F films had been fun, but the magic that Justin Lin brought the franchise was definitely missing. This trailer makes it seem like its back in full force for F9. The director has a knack for taking ridiculous action that you’d normally roll your eyes at and turning it into some of the best sequences you’ve ever seen.

F9 also stars Tyrese Gibson, Nathalie Emmanuel, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordana Brewster, and Cardi B. It will release on May 22, 2020.
