Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi’s turn-based continuation, Fantasian Part 2, has an official release date on Apple Arcade. A release date announcement trailer from developer Mistwalker Corporation sets the date to this Friday, August 13. Additionally, the video description promises between 40 and 60 hours of content and 34 tracks from acclaimed composer Nobuo Uematsu. Part 2 will offer expanded Growth Maps and the ability to swap party members in and out of battle.

The first part of Fantasian released earlier this year for Apple Arcade-supported devices. The story follows protagonist Leo after he awakens in a new land with nearly no memory of what came before. Along with gameplay inspiration from the Final Fantasy series, Fantasian tells its story by tasking players with collecting Leo’s memories. Mistwalker describes the Apple iOS title a diorama RPG, with the studio saying more than 150 real-life handcrafted dioramas were created for the game’s development.

Fantasian Part 2 is only coming to Apple Arcade upon its release date this week, as the RPG continues to be an Apple exclusive. Sakaguchi teased the second part late last month, saying work on it was nearing completion. This continuation of the Fantasian story will be twice as long as Part 1 when it releases later this week.
