The first family of Marvel is finally returning to the fold, and we now know when. At San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2022, Marvel gave its Fantastic Four movie a release date of November 8, 2024, kicking off Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Marvel also just announced the full MCU Phase 5 timeline, full of previously announced movies and TV shows and also a few surprises. As things then roll over into Phase 6, will the Fantastic Four be part of a newly announced Avengers movie, or will the MCU start getting so big that Avengers films will only need to feature Avengers characters? A long list of movie and TV titles only tell you so much about what to actually expect from these stories.
Little else is known about the MCU Fantastic Four movie beyond its release date and place in Phase 6, as we don’t have any plot hints or casting. Of course, John Krasinski played Mr. Fantastic in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, but that was in an alternate universe and things didn’t end so well for him. While Marvel could definitely easily bring him back as this universe’s Mr. Fantastic, it could just as easily cast someone else. Previous comments have suggested the actor will not return in the role.
