Only 500 of the special physical collector’s editions of Fez will be produced.
Phil Fish, best known for telling that one guy to kill himself and then quitting the video games industry, first made a name for himself with his quirky indie platformer Fez, released back in 2012. Now, three years later, Fez is getting a fancy, limited, collector’s edition.
The special edition, which you can buy from Polytron’s shop, will set you back $100, and will be limited to a run of 500. It is sold as “a hardcover notebook bound in red canvas with debossed gold foil inlay presented in a matching slipcase.” Hidden inside the book somewhere are both the game for PC/Mac, and the game’s OST.
The limited edition was designed by Phil Fish himself, and will go on sale December 18.
Despite Fish’s constant “holier-than-thou” outbursts, Fez was actually a pretty good game, though I really don’t know who would want to drop $100 on this three years after its release. Perhaps it may be a sign of something else, and we may finally see Fez 2? Don’t hold your breath, though.
