The game comes to the Nintendo 3DS this May.
During the Fire Emblem Nintendo Direct today, Nintendo announced Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, an upcoming title that will take inspiration from the second installment in the series, Fire Emblem Gaiden.
The game will release on the Nintendo 3DS on May 19. The game’s protagonists, Alm and Celica, will be available as Amiibos when the game releases.

“Echoes is inspired by the second installment of the series, Fire Emblem Gaiden, released exclusively in Japan in 1992,” Nintendo of America wrote in a tweet alongside the announcement, adding that “everything that made Fire Emblem Gaiden unique is here: free-roaming, dungeons, and flexible character progression.”
Also announced during the Nintendo Direct was the fact that Fire Emblem Warriors, first announced at Nintendo’s Switch presentation last week, will be making its way to both the Switch and the 3DS this fall, along with a new, currently untitled main Fire Emblem, which will release for the Switch sometime in 2018.
