Focus Home Interactive has announced that it has acquired Dotemu, the developer behind games such as Streets of Rage 4 and the upcoming Windjammers 2. The company signed a contract for 77.5% of the share capital of the Paris-based Dotemu.
“The arrival of Dotemu marks a key step in the acceleration of the Group’s growth and in the diversification of its expertise,” said Focus Home CEO Christophe Nobileau. “By enriching our editorial line, we are opening up a new revenue stream and new market shares to conquer in a fast-growing sector.”
Dotemu CEO Cyrille Imbert explained that joining Focus Home Interactive was an obvious choice. Both companies share the same passion for video games, the desire to improve, and the same values towards their partners and teams. Dotemu will benefit from the expertise of Focus Home’s teams in the production of AA titles and future remakes or sequels of retro titles.
“My mission will also be to share Dotemu’s expertise with Focus Home Interactive’s teams, to select and convince talented teams to join the Group in order to build, together, a key player in the video game industry on a global scale,” says Imbert.
Dotemu is also publishing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, which is due out sometime this year.
