Foreclosed is a narrative-driven, cyberpunk action stealth game by Antab Studio. You play as Kapnos, a man who due to circumstances beyond his control has his identity foreclosed, giving him a short amount of time to regain his life before having it and his cybernetic implants auctioned off by the court. On his way to court, he’s attacked by mysterious folks but ultimately saved by another person he’s never met.
The story is pulpy and gritty; everything is working against you and corruption rules both the courts and the streets. The dialog leans too heavily on cliches and lacks a satirical edge to compensate for it. Likewise, the story is predictable without offering any unique elements to engage players. The writing ultimately lacks anything exceptional to make me care about the characters or their plights or believe in this world.
Despite an outstanding presentation, great soundtrack, and a few neat ideas like on-screen keypad displays to hack items in real-time, the gameplay and story make the roughly three-hour game a repetitive experience that lacks any standout moments or features.
