Blitzcrank’s Poro Roundup is a free 2D retro sidescrolling mobile game, released as part of Riot’s “Arcade” League of Legends event.
Love League of Legends but dismayed by the fact that you can only get your fix while sitting at your PC? In order to help scratch any LoL itch you may feel on-the-go, Riot Games has just unveiled a new, free, mobile sidescrolling mini-game based on the franchise: Blitzcrank’s Poro Roundup. It is now available on iOS, Android, and your web browser for “a limited time only” as part of the main game’s “Riot Arcade” event.
In Blitzcrank’s Poro Roundup, players take on the role of lovable robot Blitzcrank, as he aims to save the adorable little Poro creatures from the clutches of Baron Nashor. As you play, you’ll have to fight through other champions (such as Singed, who you shouldn’t chase) and unlock other playable characters (such as Thresh). It’s a fun little game with a great 2D artstyle.
But if you want to get a hold of it, act fast, as Riot has specifically stated that “Blitzcrank’s Poro Roundup will be available for roughly a month, from August 21 to September 21. The game will be removed from the App store and the web Arcade on 11:59:59 PDT, September 21.” Of course, just like the nuked Flappy Bird, if you already have it downloaded you’ll be able to keep it on your device, and I’m sure plenty of fans are already preserving the .apk files to upload when it is removed.
Additionally, two new “Arcade”-themed skins: Arcade Riven and Battle Boss Blitzcrank, have been added to League of Legends, allowing players to make a full Arcade team when combined with Arcade Sona, Hecarim, and Miss Fortune.
