Sucker Punch Productions took to the PlayStation.Blog today to reveal the Ghost of Tsushima release date and the multiple editions there will be of the action adventure game. The Infamous and Sly Cooper developer revealed that its next project will hit its targeted release window of summer 2020 by releasing June 26 exclusively on PlayStation 4. The open-world title was originally announced during Sony’s Paris Games Week showcase in 2017.
The Washington-based studio also released a new story trailer for Ghost of Tsushima. The three-minute video focuses on protagonist Jin Sakai and the people that have shaped him into the warrior he has become. This includes his uncle Shimura, who is a lord of Tsushima and has taught Jin the ways of the samurai. Meanwhile, the game’s chief antagonist Khotun Khan is the leader of the invading Mongol army. As one of the few surviving samurai on the island, Jin will have to take on the invaders through stealth and superior technique.
Beyond the regular version of the game, which will cost the standard $59.99, Sucker Punch also detailed three premium editions that will be available. The Ghost of Tsushima digital deluxe edition will cost $10 more and come with director’s commentary, a Hero of Tsushima skin set, a digital mini art book by Dark Horse, and some in-game objects in the form of a technique point and the Charm of Hachiman’s Favor. The game’s special edition will also be priced at $69.99 and features a SteelBook case plus the contents of the digital deluxe edition.
Meanwhile, the Ghost of Tsushima collector’s edition will cost $169.99. It features everything offered in the special edition, plus a cloth map of the island, a sashimono / war banner, a mask with stand, a physical 48-page copy of the art book, and a furoshiki / wrapping cloth. Those that preorder any of the three editions will get three digital bonuses: a Jin avatar, a dynamic PlayStation 4 theme based on the box art, and a mini soundtrack.
