Bethesda and Tango Gameworks’ PlayStation 5 timed exclusive, Ghostwire: Tokyo, might be only two months from launch if a PlayStation Store leak is accurate. First spotted by MP1st, the PlayStation Store page for Ghostwire: Tokyo recently listed a March 24, 2022 release date. No date had been announced previously, so while the prospect of a soon-to-be reveal is exciting, it’s best to keep expectations in check until Bethesda has more to share. Until then, you can see two screenshots of the now removed date below.
Originally announced in 2019, Ghostwire: Tokyo later had its release date delayed to “early 2022.” The delay came as a result of the studio’s desire to keep its employees safe and healthy during the pandemic.
When it eventually launches, the supernatural title will join Arkane Studios’ Deathloop in a weird limbo period where both titles secured a PlayStation-exclusive launch before Microsoft purchased publisher Bethesda in 2020. Deathloop will eventually make its way to Xbox consoles, as will Ghostwire: Tokyo. Hopefully, we’ll see Deathloop in the hands of Xbox players sometime later this year, but it’s impossible to tell when they’ll get to play Ghostwire until a more concrete date for the PlayStation release is shared. Stay tuned for updates as we wait for Bethesda to chime in on today’s leak.
