Microsoft announced today that the Xbox One version of Grand Theft Auto V will be available on Xbox Game Pass starting today.
While originally released in 2013 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, the title has kept its momentum over the years with ports to current consoles and PC. Its constantly updated online component, Grand Theft Auto Online, has helped retain players by allowing them to partake in online heists and virtual casinos. Showing a remarkably long tail, even six years after it initially released, Grand Theft Auto V regularly cracked the top 10 in monthly sales in 2019. With over 115 million copies sold, the latest installment in the GTA series is one of the best-selling video games ever made.

The latest installment in the critically acclaimed series, Grand Theft Auto V is the first entry in the series that features multiple protagonists. The journey of all three playable characters takes place in an updated version of San Andreas and the city of Los Santos, which were both introduced in the PlayStation 2 classic, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One ports of the title also allowed players to play GTA from a first-person perspective for the first time.
Grand Theft Auto V will join a wide array of titles already available on Microsoft’s game subscription service. New subscribers can get their first three months of the service for just $1, while normal console and PC subscriptions run $9.99. A combined subscription called Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which also includes Xbox Live Gold, is available for $14.99 a month.
