So here’s the trailer for Green Lantern: The Animated Series. Seriously, who didn’t see this one coming?
With the recent (terrible beyond words) Green Lantern film, there have been a slew of tie-ins and merchandise announced. However, Cartoon Network has revealed that it’ll have what is probably going to be the longest-lasting associated property: A Green Lanter animated series.
The trailer doesn’t reveal much, other than the show will star Hal Jordan and feature a bunch of his fellow Corps members as they fight the good fight. There’s Kilowog, and Salaak, and a bunch of Guardians floating around looking authoritative. But other than that, there’s really not much else that’s obvious about the series, other than Hal will fly a spaceship (which seems a bit superfluous seeing as how he’s got a ring that negates the need for spaceships).
OK, I’m sure little kids won’t mind Green Lantern: The Animated Series. Heck, they’ll probably even enjoy it. The problem with this is that, until now, the DC animated series on Cartoon Network have usually been pretty appealing for both children and adults (admittedly, Batman: The Brave and the Bold seems less parent-oriented), and it doesn’t look like this new series will have any real appeal for anyone past the age of ten or so when it appeals sometime later this year.
