The next installment in the Halo franchise, Halo Infinite, will be present at Microsoft’s Xbox 20/20 event in July. 343 Industries confirmed in a Halo Waypoint post that Halo Infinite will be one of the many first-party Microsoft Studios titles shown.
According to Microsoft, both Halo Infinite and Xbox Series X are still on track to release this holiday season, despite the situation surrounding the global COVID-19 pandemic. Although, some high-profile departures from 343 Industries have occurred in the past year, including of creative director Tim Longo and lead producer Mary Olson. That being said, such departures are common in the industry and shouldn’t be taken as cause for alarm.
Due to the global pandemic, many in-person gaming shows such as E3 and Gamescom have been canceled. While Microsoft was planning to participate in E3, the company has shifted towards its own digital event, Xbox 20/20. It will have monthly updates leading up to the release of the Xbox Series X.
Last week, Microsoft debuted a new episode of Inside Xbox focusing on third-party support, which included footage from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Yakuza: Like a Dragon, as well as new reveals such as Scarlet Nexus, The Medium, Call of the Sea, and Second Extinction.
