Hayden Christensen Joins the Ahsoka Star Wars Series on Disney+

Hayden Christensen joins Ahsoka Disney+ series Star Wars Anakin Skywalker Darth Vader Rosario Dawson flashbacks force ghost robot clone

Last December, the bombshell news dropped that actor Hayden Christensen would be reprising his iconicĀ Star Wars role as Anakin Skywalker / Darth Vader for the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series. However, it turns out his return to the franchise does not stop there. The Hollywood Reporter reports today that Hayden Christensen will now also reprise the character in the Ahsoka Disney+ series.

What makes this especially surprising is that Ahsoka, like The Mandalorian, is apparently set five years after Return of the Jedi, and Darth Vader very clearly died at the end of that film. Thus, how Hayden Christensen will appear in Ahsoka across Rosario Dawson in the starring role is unclear. The easiest explanation is that Anakin Skywalker could appear in flashbacks, but he could also appear as a Force ghost or in holocron recordings. More outlandish possibilities include Anakin Skywalker robots, clones, or long-lost twin brothers for Hayden Christensen to portray in Ahsoka — none of which sound very likely.

Whatever the case may be, prequel trilogy fans are likely to eat it up. Fans were similarly excited to hear that Star Wars: Rebels character Sabine Wren will reportedly appear in Ahsoka. Meanwhile, The Book of Boba Fett is set to premiere on Disney+ at the very end of December. There will never be an end to Star Wars content, no matter how desperately some people could use a breather.
