Halo Infinite, delay, microsoft, xbox series x, 2021

The track was composed by Gareth Coker, who previously crafted the soundtracks of the Ori games, multiple Minecraft expansions, and Darksiders Genesis. However, Coker is only one of the three composers working on Halo Infinite. He is joined by Joel Corelitz (Death Stranding) and Curtis Schweitzer (Starbound).

Coinciding with the debut, Halo Waypoint has shared an extensive interview with Coker where he talks about his approach to designing music for the game. In it, he said that one of the central tenets of composing for the game has been to ensure that the music helps to embody the experience of Master Chief: “Chief – and indeed Spartans – are also beacons of hope when others see them. I’d say this has been central to our thinking when writing music for the game.” He also said that a key part of his job has been to balance the musical legacy of the series while also introducing new themes and ideas.

Halo Infinite is slated to launch alongside the Xbox Series X during the 2020 holiday season.
