Described as a “looter slasher,” Godfall is a third-person cooperative action RPG that will launch alongside the PlayStation 5 in 2020. During The Game Awards we got a short trailer for the title, giving us a glimpse at what is in store.

Keith Lee, Creative Director at Counterplay Games on Godfall, later clarified to PlayStation Lifestyle that the trailer shown off was all in-engine, and it featured “playable characters, lootable weapons, and actual in-game environments.”

Unfortunately during the trailer we didn’t get to see actual gameplay, but following The Game Awards, Counterplay Games released a GIF from Godfall giving us a first look at actual in-game gameplay footage presumably running on PlayStation 5 hardware.

The game is planned for release as a launch title on the PlayStation 5 and will also release on the Epic Games Store in 2020.

More details about Godfall will arrive early next year, so stay tuned for continued updates as we have them.

Many other announcements were made at The Game Awards last night, including the first look at the Xbox One Series X, tactical FPS Nine to Five, and Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance.
