Aloy returns in the sequel, which boasts tons of new landscapes for players to enjoy. Underwater exploration, deserts, winter areas, and new creatures were showcased during the reveal. Guerrilla says new powerful beasts will be encountered but didn’t share much more about the project.

Sony revealed plans in March to port the original Horizon Zero Dawn to PC but has not yet announced a release date. The original game launched in 2017.

Today’s PlayStation 5 showcase was first scheduled to premiere one week ago but was eventually postponed to this week in response to the Black Lives Matter protests sweeping the nation. Commenting on the moving of the premiere, Sony said it wanted to make way for “more important voices to be heard.”

Guerilla’s Horizon Zero Dawn sequel does not yet have a release window, so it may be some time before the game launches. For more on Horizon Forbidden West, the PlayStation 5, and all things next-gen, keep checking in with The Escapist for more updates.
