Hot Wheels Unleashed, a racing game that brings the classic toy car franchise to life, just received a gameplay trailer showing off its Skatepark setting. If you woke up hoping to see tricked-out toy cars racing to the sound of punk rock music as they leap out of the mouth of a T-Rex, then this video from Milestone and Mattel has you covered. The game already looked like a chaotic version of Toy Story meets Mario Kart, so the tricks, obstacles, and jumps featured in the trailer only turn up the heat.
Players will be able to build tracks in Skatepark, but they’ll also have at least three other environments: the Garage, Skyscraper, and College Campus. Each location has its own visual flares, with places such as Skyscraper set in a high-up construction site and College Campus offering an area themed after the typical American college.
Meanwhile, Mattel and Milestone have taken the opportunity to show off seven more of the more than 60 vehicle options that will be found in Hot Wheels Unleashed at launch. Expect more environment and car reveals as we get closer to the game’s release date.
Hot Wheels Unleashed is scheduled to arrive on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S on Sept. 30, 2021.
