Immersive Worlds Conference At Brock University

Registration has opened for the upcoming Interacting With Immersive Worlds Conference, a two-day event taking place at Brock University in St. Catharines, Ontario.

According to the official website, the primary focus of the conference is “to explore the growing cultural important of interactive media.” The conference will explore issues via four broad “streams,” Theory of Immersive Worlds, Creative Practices in Immersion, Immersive Worlds in Education, and Immersive Worlds in Entertainment.

Speakers for the event include Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi of Claremont Graduate University, James Paul Gee of the University of Wisconsin, Director of the MIT Media Lab Computing Culture Group Chris Csikszentmihalyi, and Denis Dyack, director and president of game developer Silicon Knights.

Founded in 1964, Brock is one of the top-ranked universities in Canada, with an AACSB-accredited Faculty of Business, as well as an accounting program officially accredited by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario. The school has an enrollment of over 17000 full and part-time students.
