Job postings suggest that Microsoft is gearing up to make 2010 the year of ‘Live Anywhere’.
Windows Mobile is facing some stiff competition from the iPhone, Droid and other smartphone platforms, but new job postings suggest that Microsoft has plans to make to revitalize the system by tying it into its very successful Xbox Live service.
Microsoft is looking for a ‘Principle Program Engineer’, who will be responsible for social interactions, avatar integration and other elements that makes the gaming experience ‘LIVE Enabled’; and a Software Test Engineer, whose job is a little bit more obvious.
With the recent release of the new Zune, and plenty of Windows Mobile handsets already in circulation, Microsoft could hit the ground running with Live Anywhere, especially when you consider that a lot of Live Arcade titles, especially re-releases of classic games, could run quite happily on most mobile devices.
