Jurassic World 3 Adds Altered Carbon Star to Cast

Jurassic World 3 is adding Dichen Lachman of Altered Carbon

Jurassic World 3‘s cast is shaping up as Dichen Lachman is joining the film in an undisclosed role. As we get closer to the film’s release next year and shooting beginning, we should see more and more casting drops like this one as the cast is fleshed out.

Fans of Joss Whedon shows (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Dollhouse) know Lachman well as she’s been a favorite of his to cast in roles of mysterious women, but more recently the actress has broken out in her turn as Reileen Kawahara in Netflix’s Altered Carbon series. She joins the main returning cast from the other Jurassic World films, including Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, and Jurassic Park stars Jeff Goldblum, Sam Neill, and Laura Dern, who will reprise their roles from the original films.

The third film in the trilogy (and sixth in the franchise as a whole) is going to take the series into some new territory as dinosaurs have escaped into the larger world and are now roaming around like wild animals. Director/screenwriter Colin Trevorrow has teased some baby dinosaurs on his social accounts and even released a surprise short film, Battle at Big Rock, showcasing what we can expect from the new film. While The Lost World: Jurassic Park toyed with the concept of dinosaurs invading humanity, it was with a sole T-Rex in a King Kong type of situation. Jurassic World 3, on the other hand, seems to be going further and addressing how the world would adapt if dinosaurs started living among us.

Jurassic World 3 will release on June 11, 2021.
