New accessories, functionality, and Playstation Store upgrades all look to boost the Playstation Portable’s repertoire this year.
A GamePro interview for PC Advisor with Sony marketing manager John Koller examines this year’s outlook for Sony’s handheld system.
Koller commented that this year should see some “very unique” Playstation Portable titles, with a focus on “franchise umbrellas”. Big titles due out this year extending established series include Final Fantasy: Crisis Core and Secret Agent Clank.
Peripherals for the PSP, including a keyboard attachment, camera and GPS add-on are all planned for release this fall.
As far as the extension of the Playstation Store to the PSP, Koller believes that informing owners of its existence and possibilities will be Sony’s greatest challenge in 2008.
Koller committed, “The Store will be very, very important for Sony and for the PSP’s future.”
