The Lego Star Wars Holiday Special no longer needs to sit awkwardly with its weird cousin, The Star Wars Holiday Special, in the holiday spin-off corner of the Star Wars universe. Disney announced today that Lego Star Wars Terrifying Tales is coming to Disney+ on October 1. The new special will be much in line with the previous holiday special, except this time it will be scary to celebrate Halloween.

Lego Star Wars Terrifying Tales will focus on the darker side of the galaxy, though our hero is Poe Dameron. After the events of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Poe and BB-8 make an emergency landing on the volcanic planet Mustafar where they meet the greedy and conniving Graballa (get it) the Hutt. Graballas has evidently taken up residence in Darth Vader’s castle and is renovating it into a hotel inspired by the Sith. The trio, along with a plucky kid named Dean and Vader’s loyal servant VaneĆ©, venture deep into the castle where spooky things are sure to happen. As they progress through the castle, VaneĆ© tells the group three creepy stories that will feature a host of characters from across the Star Wars canon. Ultimately, “With the help of Dean, Poe and BB-8 will have to face their fears, stop an ancient evil from rising, and escape to make it back to their friends.”
Unlike Marvel’s animated efforts,Ā Lego Star Wars Terrifying Tales will not feature the voice cast of the films. Instead, Jake Green will take over as Poe Dameron. He’s joined by Raphael Alejandro as Dean, Dana Snyder as Graballa the Hutt, Tony Hale as VaneĆ©, Trevor Devall as Emperor Palpatine, and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn as NI-L8. Also appearing will be Christian Slater as a character named “Ren,” so maybe the Knights of Ren will finally get some screen time that actually makes them as cool as The Rise of Skywalker failed to make them.
