Nintendo has unveiled a new Majora’s Mask 3D limited-edition bundle for North America.
You may recall back in November 2014 when Nintendo unveiled a snazzy collector’s edition for its upcoming 3DS re-release of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. Unfortunately for North Americans, it was sadly confirmed that the collector’s edition would only be releasing in Europe. Thankfully, Nintendo has revealed that it has no intention of leaving its Canadian and American customers in the lurch. The company has announced that it will be releasing another special version of the game for North America.
Launching on the same day as the game’s regular version, the newly announced “limited-edition bundle” will include the game, unique packaging and a “detailed” figurine of the game’s antagonist: the Skull Kid. No information was included about the exact dimensions of the figurine, but it appears in pictures to be a bit taller than a standard 3DS game case. The bundle, altogether, will cost $49.99 (standard versions $39.99) and is already available for pre-order.
Or it would be if supplies weren’t already selling out. While we haven’t scoured every game selling retailer on the internet, both Amazon and GameStop have listed the bundle as being currently unavailable. Amazon, in a statement, confirmed that “the first batch” of the limited edition bundle has “sold out already.” Honestly, we’re not that surprised. While some took issue with its structure and deviation from the classic Zelda formula, Majora’s Mask is remembered by many as one of the best things that the franchise has ever produced. In other words, there’s an audience for these kinds of extras.
