Sony and Insomniac Games have officially revealed Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 for PlayStation 5 during today’s PlayStation Showcase, with the symbiotic Venom (voiced by Tony Todd of Candyman) announced to play a major role in the sequel. Though today’s debut trailer gave fans a lot of information on the sequel, you won’t be able to see Venom in action until 2023. Until then, check out your Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 teaser trailer below.

Though this teaser trailer is the first time we’re getting a look at Insomniac’s full-fledged web-slinging sequel, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 won’t be the studio’s first Spidey outing on PlayStation 5. In addition to Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, which brought a visually enhanced version of the original game, the developer released the slightly smaller spinoff, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, last year. Serving as a Miles Morales-led follow-up to the first game, Insomniac proved that there’s still more juice to be squeezed out of its New York City playground.

Hopefully, we’ll get to see just how far the team can push its superheroes when Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 launches exclusively on PlayStation 5 in 2023. Stay tuned for more updates from today’s PlayStation Showcase while we wait for more information on Insomniac’s plans. Oh, and by the way, Insomniac announced a Wolverine game too.
