The Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol 2 and the games included in it may have just leaked, if a supposed datamine is to be believed. First information on the leak, which includes mentions of games like Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, comes from Imgur user Timo654 (via Reddit user LordEmmerich).
With Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol 1 out on PC and consoles today, it didn’t take fans long to reach into the bundle’s files to see what they can find. Included in these supposed files are multiple mentions of things like, “mgs4,” “mgs5,” and “mgspw,” clear references to a trio of games that are nowhere to be found in this first installment.
For those who haven’t been keeping up, the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol 1 brought Metal Gear Solid 1, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater – as well as Metal Gear 1 and 2 – to modern platforms today. However, considering its not-so-subtle subtitle, many had already assumed that Konami would eventually announce a second volume. Adding to the evidence is a leak from earlier this year that suggested that a second volume was in the works.

Regardless of how much evidence there is, it’s important to remember that Konami has not officially mentioned the Vol 2 in any capacity. However, if the bundle does indeed exist behind the scenes, its release will mark the first time Metal Gear Solid 4 has been available to play on any other platform outside of the PlayStation 3. With games like Peace Walker and Metal Gear Solid 5 also mentioned in today’s alleged leak, a second volume could be a major moment for fans everywhere, but until confirmation arrives, all we can do is wait.
