Microsoft and Bungie have unveiled details about the upcoming Legendary Map Pack for Halo 3, which will feature three new multiplayer maps as well as the addition of exciting new Forge options.
Ghost Town, a mid-sized map designed for Team Slayer and smaller, objective-based games, is a “battle-scarred maze of narrow passages and dangerous ruins” lying outside the fallen city of Voi. Shattered by war, the collapsed, gutted buildings will provide players with both life-saving cover and deadly traps, while catwalks and stairways lift the fight from the blood-soaked ground to dizzying heights.
Avalanche, the second map in the pack, is a tribute to Halo fan-favorite Sidewinder. The massive map is designed for vehicle combat, and features all-new interiors, dramatically redesigned exterior landscapes and brand new vehicle variants. Information about the third map in the pack has not been released, although Bungie described it as “another returning classic… fans of smaller Slayer maps, it’s time to get excited.”
The Legendary Map Pack, which will also offer updated Forge options that will give players “new ways to create and share their custom Halo 3 content,” will be available on April 15 via Xbox Live Marketplace, for 800 Microsoft Points. Check out Xbox.com and Bungie.net for more information.
