Five XBLA games will be represented in themed DLC for Minecraft and Trials Evolution.

Bake a cake and light some candles: Xbox Live’s Summer of Arcade turns five this summer. To celebrate five summers of awesome XBLA games, Microsoft is providing gamers with free downloadable content for Trials Evolution and Minecraft.

Starting on July 18, the first day of the 2012 Summer of Arcade, gamers can download “an exclusive free customized Summer of Arcade Skin Pack” for Minecraft by visiting the Summer of Arcade experience on the Xbox Live dashboard. The DLC has skins for all five of this year’s Summer of Arcade games: Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD, Wreckateer, Deadlight, Hybrid, and Dust: An Elysian Tale. The content will join the recently added Halo-inspired skins. Trials Evolution will also have Summer of Arcade-themed DLC beginning next week, with one new track being released for every week of the promotion.

Even if you weren’t anticipating the first title in this year’s line-up, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD, this is still a pretty good reason to look forward to the Summer of Arcade’s kick-off next week. I can’t wait to jump, crash, and explode my way through every new Trials course this summer.
