Modern Warfare 2 Finally Gets A Useful Trailer

After tantalizing teasers filled with green static and the familiar sounds of gunfire, Activision has finally unveiled a good look at the upcoming Modern Warfare 2.

Debuted during Memorial Day weekend, the 2-minute clip takes a short jaunt back into the events of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare before diving headfirst into footage from its sequel.

Instantly noticeable is the presence of terrified hordes of screaming civilians. Given that the MW series is known for its attention to detail in portraying modern combat, and how one of the biggest obstacles demonstrated by recent guerrilla-style urban fighting has been in not killing civilians with collateral damage, it’s almost shocking that we haven’t already seen random bystanders in the series so far.

Above and beyond that, the clip is the sort of military porn that fans of CoD4:MW were hoping for in a sequel. Here’s hoping it can live up to the promise of this trailer when it hits home consoles this November.
