Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin will launch on July 9 for both Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. This game follows a player character who meets a white-haired Wyverian girl named Ena. As a new trailer explains, your grandfather was the skilled Rider Red, and Ena entrusts the player with a Ratholos egg. Ena says that Rathalos monsters have been disappearing en masse throughout the world, and she asks for the player’s help to find them and discover what caused this event.
Those who preorder Monster Hunter Stories 2 will receive a Kamura Maiden outfit for Ena, although there’s also a chance it’ll be available after launch. The Deluxe Edition has the base game and a Kuan Coat outfit for Ena, as well as Alpha and Beta Razewing Armors and a spiky Nergal hairstyle for the player character. It will also include Pukei-Pukei and Nergigante outfits for the feline character, Navirou, and a set of stickers.
Additionally, there will be three new amiibo accompanying the release of the game: Ena, Tsukino, and Razewing Ratha. Each amiibo unlocks a different special layered armor set in the game.
Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin was first announced last September in a Nintendo Direct Mini. This is the first game in the Monster Hunter Stories spinoff series to get a simultaneous worldwide release. The first entry released in Japan in 2016 for Nintendo 3DS and then came westward a year later. Japanese Android and iOS versions also launched in 2017 and then everywhere else worldwide in 2018.
