Why does the sun go on shining? Why does the sea rush to shore?
Last week we got a glimpse of Call of Duty: Ghost‘s Extinction mode, which seemed to play out in a bang-bang-you’re-dead reality. This time out Infinity Ward’s laying on the atmosphere, in a cheerful little trailer that just makes you wish you were in Colorado, enjoying the beautiful mountain views and occasional alien infestation. You don’t really get any better sense of gameplay than you did before, but there’s just something a little more interesting about being dragged to your demise without getting a look at the monstrosity that did it to you.
“Teamwork and communication are essential when playing Extinction,” says Infinity Ward, and you can see why. You play as one of four classes – tank, weapon specialist, medic or engineer – and can level up with skill and cash points collected during the game. Previously there’s been focus on the toys and big explosions, but this trailer feels more like an initial scout mission, without the fancy turrets and bombs.
Call of Duty: Ghosts is out November 5th for PC, PS3, Wii U and Xbox 360, a little later for next generation consoles.
